Medical “apps” for mobile devices are changing the way physicians communicate with and educate their patients, update medical records, process reimbursement claims or reference clinical guidelines and studies. In fact, a recent survey of the mobile industry conducted by Research2Guidance predicts that doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers will become the primary distribution source for health care-related mobile apps. These apps are also expected to better connect doctors to their patients’ clinical records to enhance patient care.
